The outgoing BJP members, apart from Hardeep Singh Puri and BL Verma, are Arun Singh, Neeraj Shekhar, Geeta Shakya, Brijlal and Seema Dwivedi. The eighth seat belonged to former deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma, who resigned on September 11 after being appointed lieutenant governor (LG) of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. His term was due to end on November 25, like those of the others.
